Secure Transport

Mother & Baby Transfers

s135(1) & s135(2) Warrants

We provide secure transport for those liable to be detained under the MHA 1983 (amended 2007). Our staff are highly trained in dealing with those considered to be at high risk of absconding, self-harm and those displaying violent/ aggressive behaviours.

We convey mothers & babies to in-patient units. Our highly skilled staff are compassionate and caring and understand the delicate nature of these transfers.  We only use car seats approved by the EU.

Once a warrant has been executed, our team will assist the police and assessing team to convey the patient to a place of safety, for assessment or convey an AWOL patient back to a ward.

Therapeutic Observations

s136 support

court appearances & prison transfers

We offer a Therapeutic Observation service for patients in A&E departments, places of safety (s136 suites), hospital wards or while awaiting assessment or bed allocation.

S136 of the Mental Health Act (England and Wales) is a legal provision that grants police officers the power to take a person into custody if they are in a public place and believed to be experiencing a mental health crisis.

Once detained, our team will assist to convey the patient to a Place of Safety for assessment under the Mental Health Act 1983 (Amended 2007).

We escort service users to and from court hearings and sentencing.

We convey prisoners to and from psychiatric hospitals.

We ensure our team is prompt with the correct ratio of staff and the correct level of secure transport.
